Non Violent Resistance
Non Violent Resistance (NVR) is an innovative systemic therapy, which has been developed to target aggressive, violent, controlling and risk taking behaviour in young people. We have been the first to use this approach in Britain, and have adapted it to families involved with Social Services, and for Looked After Children (Jakob, P. (2006): Peace Dividend. Community Care, June, 32-33 / Jakob, P. (2006): Bringing non-violent resistance to Britain. Context, 84, 36-38).
The intensive, brief intervention lasts for up to three months. High efficacy and very low drop-out rates make this a very efficient and costsaving approach for CAMHS professionals, especially when they are allied to Social Services, such as LAC Mental Health Specialists.
PartnershipProjects offers basic level and advanced training in NVR, as well as clinical supervision.
