It is very useful because it can be used for externalities and internalised behaviours. A key strength is also the fact that it is a philosophy and can be applied from undesirable to down right dangerous behaviour. It values connection and empowers the parent/person applying it.

Understanding recognition of early escalation and importance of deescalation. Being able to remind the parent of the choice and benefits of NVR practice.Excellent tool to have as a practitioner.will combine the importance of NVR skills withPBS skills to enhance the quality of life of families and young people I work with.

Interactive, practical, immediately applicable to work we do with families, supports my own challenges with relationships with my own children that I can see will benefit me as a mother. Some valuable tools to instil in my own life to have some lived experience and faith as to how much it really works within the family home

Delivering it via Zoom made it much less stressful to attend. Lots of different ways of delivering information for different learning styles. I am excited to use the full NVR programme with some of my families, but will also be taking different sections for my whole caseload

Liked getting to practice some of the methods of NVR. The flexibility of the material within the programme. Gave me reassurance that some of what I already do encompasses NVR techniques.

Online feels a better way for me. The breakout rooms were a lovely way to connect on a closer level with similar minds. The pace felt sustainable and the content was varied( videos, slides, breakouts).

It has been a very enjoyable journey, lots of lovely people. I have deeper questions that perhaps transcend the foundation level course.

Trainers are extremely knowledge and offer a non judgemental space for any question, thought and ideas. Been offered 10 mins break after each hour was super! (I am hoping I have answered correctly and it wasn’t about NVR training in general! 😉 (which I can see the benefits of supporting families using the approach). Liked all of it, I was completely new to it. I think that there are parts that are easy to use in sessions.

The trainers were brilliant and very knowledgeable. There was a really good balance of activity, sharing stories, playing videos (when sound worked!). There were also a good number of breaks to facilitate learning and we were encouraged to use the room as needed to be comfortable.

It’s been fantastic training, thank you. The Venue was awful – awful lighting, locked outside, toilets didn’t flush, not enough tables/seating, no snacks or drinks.

I was able to join even though I was unwell in person would not have worked for me today. great to speak to others to be able to share further knowledge and understanding and implementation of how NVR can be used in day to day with families

The day was well structured and time boundaried, whilst also offering opportunies for the participants to question and offer their perspective. A willingness to push forward with this way of working – resist and persist!
