20 Months Later…

“Can you use NVR with autism?” …I was asked during some in-service training abroad “…because when we were first trained in NVR, we were told you cannot, that people on the autistic spectrum don’t have the social capacity.” I’m glad we missed out on that warning in the UK; many families with children on the autistic spectrum have benefitted from the introduction of nonviolence to their family life – families with young people who were showing aggressive, violent behaviour, and/or those families whose children were anxious and socially withdrawn, spending their nights on the internet and refusing school.

This is the first nonviolent blog. The Nonviolent Blog will attempt to be topical whenever possible, while casting a light on different aspects of nonviolence. Hardly a topic has received as much attention throughout the history of writing as violence – but very little has been written to date about nonviolence, which is generally just seen as the absence of physical force. It is even a struggle to find the right name for it – the word “nonviolence” is merely the negation of violence. A future blog will focus on the language and definition of nonviolence. For now, it shall suffice to say that each blog will open another perspective on nonviolence.

It has all been incredibly useful and very interesting. I was apprehensive about it being on zoom for three days – but it hasn’t affected the quality of training at all.
Gentle reflective pace, warmth, humanity and humility of presenters. Clear but not prescriptive explanation of the model. Excellent training. Thankyou. I just want my whole team to do the training now!
I liked the pairs/ threes break out groups rather than always a bigger break out group. I liked the time taken to explain the principles and values of the approach
It was well paced and inclusive. trainers were very knowledgeable and experienced and had a warm approach. First time i have felt comfortable doing a role play
I really enjoyed this training and i feel i will be able to share my knowledge confidently
Loved the three days. The pace was fantastic and so well pitched. Excellent, knowledgeable and engaging trainers. Plenty of tools added to my practice toolkit.
Thank you very much, I very much would like to proceed with the course programme and different trainings offered 🙂

Thank you very much. A really useful and informative training. Definitely lots I can take away to use in my practice, and the experiential tasks have made me feel more confident in doing so.
I have really enjoyed the course and I have learned so much from others on the course. The tutors were knowledgable , friendly and I look forward to more training
I think it has been amazing and I can’t wait to put it into practice
Really enjoyed the three days and excited about trying some NVR techniques

I have felt much more relaxed in my parenting and feel like I am slowly able to find again that sense of being the mum I would like to be. That is precious to me!
Trainers were knowledgeable and the ability to help us think reflectively was fantastic. So relevant. Well delivered. I’ve never done role play in such a connective way.
“What an incredible few days together – it was such a privilege listening to the inspirational presentations from everyone. It was wonderful to spend time together immersed in NVR thinking”.
“I never fail to be amazed with the inspiration and motivation gained on PartnershipProjects courses. Thank you for sharing ideas and passion with me and for inspiring me continuously”.
I trained to Advanced level with PartnershipProjects & I am currently studying the Accreditation Module. Peter and Rachael have given me invaluable tools to use with families which has helped me make a lasting
impact on their lives. Within my service I am the go to NVR worker due to this comprehensive training program. It has furthered my desire to use NVR within my everyday practise.
Peer learning and seeing how others implement NVR within different service settings is a wonderful experience. Mixing with like-minded NVR professionals brings learning to life.
